The oil skimmer belt is an endless steel belt designed for oil skimmer devices that recover oil (floating oil) on the surface of water. The belt-type oil skimmer device consists of an upper drum and a lower drum. The lower drum is submerged in a tank of water, while the upper drum is constructed with a magnet embedded in it. By using a steel belt made of a magnetic steel type, the belt rotates while adhering to the drum without slipping. Since oil tends to adhere easily to metal, when the steel belt is submerged in a tank with floating oil, oil attaches to the surface of the belt, which then carries the oil up to the upper drum, where it is scraped off with a scraper or similar tool. If the drum diameter and layout are known, we can also provide recommendations for the optimal thickness of the steel belt.
